Our experience gives you a head start

Experience tells us that getting the feeling of skiing before the course is absolutely vital. You can get used to the snow, the altitude, the language and test your (new) materials and adjust them if needed. A Snowsports Instructor trainer is there to help you optimally prepare for the course. Over your two days you will get training with personal tips and tricks, a video analysis and you will discuss Austrian ski and snowboard terminology. During the course you learn the correct ski position and techniques that you have to demonstrate in your exams.

I learned so much

During the online German course and the two day training in Austria I learned so much. It is such an advantage that everything is explained in my own language and you get the chance to take all the information in. I soon realised that I picked everything up much faster at the start of the course than the others.

  • What to expect

During the day you hit the slopes with our trainers in the ski resort where the course takes place. You learn the techniques that you need to demonstrate during your practical exams. The right body position, correct movement and the correct rhythm. Multiple types of turns are practised, from turning for beginners to advanced turning techniques. You will also learn the ins and outs of the practical exams. Besides that, the trainers film you and afterwards analyse your technique to give you a better understanding on points to improve.

The evenings will be spent going over the days’ events along with video analysis. This is to ensure you are aware of your technique and how you can improve.

    • Techniques for your own skills and a video analysis.
    • Techniques for instructing beginners and slightly advanced people with a video analysis.
    • Insight into education and methodology.
    • German terminology.

German Language course

The Anwärter course is an officially recognised qualification. This means the entire course is in Austrian. This is German with an Austrian dialect. Obviously you need to be able to speak, understand and write some German. Pronunciation and grammar mistakes are not judged, unlike what you say and your knowledge. Our experience tells us that it is easy to tag along for participants. It definitely helps to have English speaking coaches there to help.

Have a look at the video underneath. Do you understand what is said?
